TOPIC 1: MY FUTURE CAREER.
TOPIC 2: HOW I HELP AT HOME.
TOPIC 3: MY COUNTRY, NIGERIA.
REFERENCE: The children are to write on the three topics listed above as TOPIC 1, TOPIC 2 and TOPIC 3. Each topic should be written on a different day. Each essay should not be less than 15 lines. Neat work and good hand-writing must be applied. Use your dictionary to check words which you cannot spell, as wrongly spelled words will reduce your scores.
BRIEF EXPLANATION: Essay writing builds up creativity in writing, self-expression, rich vocabulary, good hand-writing, good imagination etc. Children should be encouraged to write often. At the beginning, the children will be able to write on what they have experienced but as they progress in their writing, they should be encouraged to write fictitious essays which are based only on imagination.
EXERCISES/ASSIGNMENTS:
Write an essay on each of the topics listed above as topics. Do not write on the three topics on the same day. Write one essay per day.
Begin your essay by writing the date first then the subject and the topic, after that begin to develop your essay. Follow the example below always –
