Forbearance and Understanding
Forbearance means having self-control and the ability to control others.
Understanding means the ability to understand something or people.
Abraham and Lot went to dwell in the land of Bethel and the land was too small to contain both of them with their cattle and herdsmen. So Abraham said to lot, that in order that there should be no quarrel between them, he asked Lot to choose the side of the land that is preferable to him. Then Lot chose the plans of Jordan and Abraham dwelt in the land of Canaan.
Abraham had self-control and understanding, so he was able to solve the problem between himself and his nephew, Lot.
