Play Director
The play director is someone who oversees many aspects of staging a play, from casting to costumes to performances. They bring the vision of a playwright’s script to life, by leading the cast and crew through the production process. The play director also studies the script and uses his creative licence to bring the words to life.
Audience
An audience is a group of people who participate in a show or encounter a work of art. The audience drives every aspect of developing a theatrical performance. It is important to know the audience because it determines the content that will appear in the writing. If you are arguing for a change to occur, identifying the level at which you want this change to occur and the people you want to persuade to help create this change is the audience.
Performance
Performance generally comprises an event in which a performer or group of performers present one or more works of art to an audience. In drama, performance is typically described as “play”. The performers usually participate in rehearsals beforehand.
