TOPIC: THE STORY OF DAVID (Ruth 4 : 22)

BRIEF EXPLANATION:

The man ‘David’

David was the son of Jesse of the tribe of Judah. He was a shepherd and trusted in God.

Samuel anointed him in the midst of his brethren and the spirit of the Lord came upon him from that day forward.

When the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, David took a harp and played with his hand and Saul was refreshed and was well and the evil spirit departed from him. 1st Samuel 16:23

David was the shepherd boy who defeated the Giant named Goliath of Gath, a philistine who defied the name of the God of Israel.

David prevailed over the philistine with a sling and with a stone and smote the philistine, and slew him, but there was no sword in his hand. David took the head of the philistine and brought it to Jerusalem.

David’s desirable qualities

David was humble – humility.

  1. Obedient
  2. He had faith in God
  3. He was brave and courageous
  4. He was forgiving etc.
