SUBJECT: WORD WORK

TOPIC:  IDENTIFICATION OF SMALL LETTERS a – i

REFERENCE: THE CHART OF LETTERS PREPARED BY AUNTIE CECILIA.

BRIEF EXPLANATION: There is an excel sheet to be used to teach the children the letters of the alphabet print it out from the website if it has been uploaded; otherwise get a hard copy from the school. Try to adhere to the format on the sheet, of 4 letters per line. Let the children learn 4 letters at a time. The next line of letters is to be introduces after the children might have learned the previous line.

 

NOTES FOR THE CHILDREN:  Follow the example below –

The children are to be made to repeat the letters by reading them from the chart many times. Do a lot of repetition work.

Get the children to listen to our traditional audio abc song and sing along.

EXERCISES/ASSIGNMENT

The children are to practice writing the letters one at a time. At the beginning, blank sheets should be used for practice and later-on when the children are able to place the letters in boxes, the page on the excel sheet resource material should be used with the letter required
